Assetary API

A free, read-only REST API for searching and downloading published Assetary assets. No key needed. Every response only includes assets that passed moderation; nothing pending, rejected or hidden is ever returned. Please respect each asset's license, and credit creators when the license asks for it.

Base URL

https://www.assetary.net/api/v1

Rate limit

60 requests per minute per IP. Over the limit you get 429 with a Retry-After header (seconds).

CORS

GET requests are allowed from any origin, so you can call it from a browser.

Use Assetary in Claude (MCP)

Assetary has an MCP server, so AI apps like Claude can search assets, read details and look up creators for you. No account or login is needed.

In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
Name it Assetary, paste the URL above, and leave the OAuth fields empty.
Ask something like "find me a free neon overlay on Assetary". Tools: search_assets, get_asset, list_categories, get_creator.

Endpoints

GET/api/v1/assets

Search published assets. Uses the same filters and sorting as the website.

q	Search titles, descriptions and tags.
category	Category slug, e.g. hdris, 3d-assets. See /categories.
platform	Comma-separated: roblox, blender, unity, universal. Matches any.
format	File extension, e.g. glb, rbxm, hdr, png.
license	free-no-credit, credit-required or personal-only.
tag	A single tag, e.g. neon.
sort	new (default), downloads, likes, or trending (downloads in the last 7 days).
page	Page number, starting at 1.
per_page	Results per page, 1 to 100. Default 24.

One published asset by its ID.

GET/api/v1/assets/{id}/download

Redirects (302) to the file. This is the download_url returned for every asset; downloads made through it count toward the asset's download stats.

A creator's public profile, links and stats.

GET/api/v1/creators/{username}/assets

A creator's published assets. Accepts the same parameters as /assets.

q	Search titles, descriptions and tags.

GET/api/v1/categories

Every category with its accepted file formats and number of published assets.

Errors

Every error uses the same shape, with an HTTP status to match.

400	bad_request	A parameter is invalid (unknown category, per_page over 100...).
404	not_found	No published asset or creator matches.
405	method_not_allowed	Only GET (and OPTIONS) are supported.
429	rate_limited	Too many requests; wait for Retry-After seconds.
500	internal_error	Something went wrong on our side.
